We can learn so much from the resilience of cacti.  The spines of cacti are actually modified leaves, not thorns. They protect cacti from herbivores that want to eat them.  They can be found in many different environments including deserts, rainforests and mountains. There are over 1500 varieties of cacti with the saguaro being the largest.  It can grow up to 60 feet tall and live up to 200 years!
