• Unstable Nature: The red parts, lacking chlorophyll, need the green Myrtillocactus base to survive.
• Sterile: Being a genetic mutation, it's sterile and can only be propagated asexually (through cuttings or grafting).

• Light: Start in light shade when young and transition to a brighter spot as it matures.
• Soil: Use a well-draining soil mix with gravel added for drainage. It prefers a slightly richer organic content than other cacti.
• Watering: Water regularly in summer, but allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering in autumn and stop completely in winter.
