Growth here doesn’t follow a single direction. Instead of rising in a defined column, this crested form spreads laterally—folding, fusing, and dividing into a dense, fan-like structure that reads more like coral than plant.
The edges ripple and collapse into one another, forming a continuous line that never quite repeats. New growth pushes outward in soft, irregular waves, creating a living contour shaped more by variation than symmetry.
The surface carries a muted, matte tone—subtle greens layered with hints of gray—shifting quietly depending on light and season. There’s no central axis, no predictable outline. Each section develops independently, contributing to a form that feels closer to formation than growth.
Native to Madagascar, this is a naturally occurring mutation—uncommon in habitat and increasingly rare in stable, established specimens.
This is not a plant that reads as botanical.
It reads as structure.
🌱 Care Guide
☀️ Light
Prefers bright light to full sun. Gradual acclimation is recommended to avoid surface stress or scorching.
💧 Water
Water deeply, then allow soil to dry completely before watering again. Reduce significantly in winter.
🪨 Soil
Requires a very fast-draining mix. Mineral-heavy blends (pumice, lava rock, perlite) help prevent moisture retention and support healthy root structure.
🌡️ Temperature
Prefers warm conditions. Protect from temperatures below ~50°F.
🌬️ Humidity
Prefers low humidity with good airflow. Dense crested growth benefits from ventilation to reduce risk of rot.
📈 Growth Habit
Moderate-growing in a crested, fan-shaped form. Growth is lateral and unpredictable, with no repeating pattern—each specimen develops a unique structure over time.
⚠️ Special Note
As with all Euphorbia, this plant contains a milky sap that can be irritating to skin and eyes—handle with care.
🪴 Why It Stands Out
