🌵

At first glance, Euphorbia milii reads as contradiction—delicate coral blooms suspended above a hardened, thorn-covered structure. The stems are armored, lined with sharp spines that give the plant its name, while small, saturated flowers appear almost casually, softening the entire composition.

The coral coloration sits in a narrow range between pink and orange, shifting subtly depending on light. Against the muted green-grey stems, the effect is clean and graphic—color placed with restraint rather than abundance.

It’s a plant built on tension: rigid and protective at its core, but constantly pushing out color. Over time, it becomes less about individual blooms and more about the balance between structure and interruption.

🌱 Care Guide

Light
Prefers bright light to full sun. The more light it receives, the more consistently it will produce flowers.

Water
Water thoroughly, then allow soil to dry out before watering again. More forgiving than many succulents, but still sensitive to overwatering.

Soil
Fast-draining cactus or succulent mix is essential. Add mineral components like pumice or perlite to improve drainage.

Temperature
Thrives in warm conditions. Protect from frost and prolonged cold exposure.

Humidity
Prefers low humidity but is adaptable. Good airflow helps maintain overall health.

Growth Habit
Forms woody, branching stems over time, creating a structured, slightly irregular silhouette. Can be pruned to shape if desired.

Special Note
Contains a milky sap that can irritate skin—handle with care. The spines are sharp and persistent, part of the plant’s defining character.
