Epithelantha bokei is a remarkable miniature cactus prized for its extraordinarily dense covering of minute white spines, which nearly conceals the green body beneath and gives the plant its distinctive silvery-white appearance. This exceptional Japanese cultivar brings another layer of collector interest to an already highly desirable species, reflecting the long Japanese tradition of selecting and cultivating cacti for exceptional form, symmetry, spination, and character. Care Instructions

☀️ Light
Bright light to full sun. Provide excellent light to maintain dense, compact growth, gradually acclimating the plant to intense direct sunlight.

💧 Water
Water carefully during active growth, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. Keep substantially drier during winter dormancy. This small, slow-growing species is particularly sensitive to prolonged moisture around the roots.

🪨 Soil
Requires an exceptionally fast-draining, mineral-rich cactus mix with very little moisture retention.

🌡️ Temperature
Tolerates cool conditions when completely dry but should be protected from prolonged frost, particularly in cultivation.

🌬️ Humidity
Low humidity and excellent air circulation are preferred.

📈 Growth Habit
Extremely slow-growing and naturally compact, developing as a small globular to slightly cylindrical cactus and capable of producing additional heads with maturity. Older clustered specimens can take many years to develop.
