This fascinating succulent is a result of crossbreeding between Astrophytum myriostigma cv. Hakujo and Astrophytum myriostigma cv. Fukuryu. The name "Fukuryu" translates to "presence of additional ribs," referring to the irregular raised warts or bumps found on the cactus's surface. "Hakuun" means "cloudy sky" in Japanese, which describes the characteristic white flecks that form cloudy patches on the cactus.

·         Appearance: It has a globular or spherical shape that can become columnar over time.

·         Ribs: Features the characteristic three to seven vertical ribs of Astrophytum myriostigma, which are more pronounced when the plant is young
