🌵

A compact clustering Aloe with incredible texture and coloration, Aloe brevifolia is beloved for its dense geometric rosettes and heavily toothed leaves that resemble the armored skin of a crocodile — giving rise to its unforgettable common name.

The thick triangular leaves stack tightly into sculptural rosettes in shades of pale blue-green, silver-green, or dusty lavender depending on sun exposure and stress. Along the leaf margins, soft white teeth create intricate texture and sharp visual contrast, especially when viewed from above.

As the plant matures, it offsets freely and gradually forms broad clustered mounds that feel both orderly and wild at the same time. Under strong light or cooler conditions, the foliage often develops beautiful blushes of pink, purple, orange, or red along the tips and edges.

At 11 inches wide, this specimen already displays the impressive colony-forming habit that makes Aloe brevifolia such a standout in succulent collections and container arrangements.
